Politicians Answer Players Questions at "Town Hall" Gathering
The event organized at the Rio in Las Vegas is free and open to all comers
This weekend, the Las Vegas Rio is hosting the ldquo;town hallquot; style poker and political feedback meeting organized by Poker Players Alliance. The venue and time for the gathering are rather conveniently chosen as many of the industry decision-makers and thousands of pokerheads are currently visiting Vegas for the World Series of Poker.
The key speakers at the event include John Pappas, the PPA’s executive director; Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, famous for introducing one of the federal bills on internet poker legalisation at the moment held up by the Congress; Greg quot;Fossilmanquot; Raymer, ex-WSOP champ and poker activist; Linda Johnson of poker Hall of Famer; PPA directors Rich Muny and Drew Lesofski and Lupe Soto, the director of the Nevada organization.
The discussion kick-off is scheduled for 12:15 h Saturday local time and the expected questions include reference to the Barton and Campbell bills and any progress planned for this year.
The meeting is free and open to all comers to discuss the actual issues, including among others the political hurdles at Congressional level and the future of the game in the United States.
