Barnes tweet causes concern among players
A tweet that appeared this week from one James Barnes, who appears to be a lawyer who often tweets on insider information about the Full Tilt debacle, claiming that the Pokerstars attempt to acquire Full Tilt Poker had been derailed caused quite a stir in the industry, and raised concerns among unpaid players.
Namely, in his tweets, and without revealing his sources, Barnes stated that the Pokerstars attempt to acquire FTP had quot;foldedquot;; that it was quot;never a real deal – just a bluffquot; to prevent Groupe Bernard Tapie from taking over the company and a bargaining chip in trying to ameliorate DoJ actions.
He also stated that quot;DOJ have rejected proposal by Isai to have civil charges dropped. He’s worried about jail time,quot; and asked: quot;Pokerstars have gone all-in! Will DoJ fold?quot;
However, asked to comment on the tweets, Pokerstars’ communications chief, Eric Hollreiser, who said that the allegations Barnes presented are quot;false.quot;
